Maybe Controversial

This is something I believe and it is for the heritage and manifesto project.

I believe in God, but I also believe in evolution. I think that God creates ideas and then puts the stages of evolution in place to create the species and then the bible is a sort of an advice book. The stories are like fables and you should take what you want from that stories. I went to a Christian festival and my dad was speaking to a coffee selling van and they put coffee in ceramic mugs and had to start asking people to leave deposits on the mugs when they went to Leeds festival because people kept stealing them. After putting the deposits on people would still take the mugs but at Greenbelt festival (Christian festival) they didn't. I just think people should be Christians for the love and care not the whole crazy fundamentalness. We don't need  the hate or all the greed.

Helping out with Brassed Off Performance

This was the first time I helped at the Acorn and I started on Tuesday 27th September. On the first night I painted the pit head and the wheel that goes on the pit head. On the next night, which was a Thursday I helped paint a flat with bricks on one side and a a concrete looking  wall on the other side, this was to hide the drums. The walls each looked pretty good when finished. This was a simple, but flexible means of allowing scene changes.  The set had to enable a domestic scene through to the apparent hanging of a major character.

Next week was the technical rehearsal Tuesday night so I knew the prop arrangements and when to get them on and off stage in the blackouts, I thought I was going to be front of house but I think this was better because I learnt more.  I need to experience different aspects of theatre work.

Thursday was the opening night and I was backstage crew on each performance, which was also on Friday night Saturday matinee and Saturday evening. Overall, I found this a good experience.

I cannot wait to for the next production Big Mad Mouse

I will be recording all experience I have by keeping the program, taking pictures of the set and noting what I have done in the performance.

Theatre Design Experience

I helped out with three productions at school. When I was in year nine (2007) I helped out with Grease. I didn't do very much on this because a lot of people were working on it but after doing this I knew I wanted to help out backstage on more productions.

I helped with my schools next production Busgy Malone, this was in 2008 and I enjoyed this more because I also helped backstage on the night. Also the team working on the set was a lot smaller and had quite a few good props to make like the Splurge Guns.

The final theatre production I helped out with was Disco Inferno, this has quite a boring set but it wasn't so much about that it was the experience. The team was even smaller this time, it was me and one other student and my teacher.
