This week I have been helping with Young Theatre Company's Summer show in a week. The play was 'Robin Hood and the Sherwood Hoodies'. I helped with tuck shop, helped kids practice their lines, assisted with costumes, made sure kids were on stage at the right time and were quiet backstage and even joined in with some of the dancing.
The show is a musical twist on the Legend of Robin Hood. This is very appropriate for where I live - near to Sherwood forest. All of Robin's gang are in fact Actors. Maid Marion reads an article, in the paper and gets from in it that they are an angry gang of outlaws and wanted them to help her rob from the rich and give to the poor. Also the Sheriff of Nottingham gets squished in the Squisher and are some adorable Skunks.
The story and songs are all written by Craig Hawes. Some of his other plays for sale.
