Making a Seagull Puppet Day Two

The legs are just being marked up here ready to be put inside. The foam was cut out from the pattern and then stuck together with specialist glue Evostick. The body didn't look quite straight but when I cut out the pattern I didn't make sure they were equal on each side. We are going to use wadding to make the body look the same each side.

The legs ready for the Evostick glue.

This is the device that was going to be used for the wings but it didn't quite work as wanted so changed it and found a better way.

The device was to bulky and didn't do anything.

Took the whole thing off and just used the crin steel for bounce.

The birds neck was reinforced with more plastazote and used cable ties to attach the head and neck.

The bird didn't move its feet very well as they just flopped around. It was suggested to attach string to the feet and use it like a string puppet.

This technique worked really well, it means the head and legs can be manipulated.

I really enjoyed this workshop. It has helped me think about the armadillo and how I can make this puppet. I need to test out some different techniques for ways of creating the body and look at how the puppet will be manipulated.
