For these I made clay moulds and covered them in liquid latex. I have tried different ways of making the heads using these.

These were made from a mix of kitchen paper, glue and water. They went it to the moulds easily and they looked like they would work but they shrunk and dis-formed. I looked at a book I borrowed and it spoke about plastic wood.

This technique worked very well but plastic wood is made from acetone and smells dreadful.
