Origami Accordian

I made one of these, I'm thinking about how I can make the extendable bit on the neck of the Giraffe. I would like the neck to be made from wire or cane and tissue paper so it is light and the actor can see out of it. I got this idea from the 'Making of War Horse'. They use cane to make the horse puppets and it looks really effective but it very simple.
